Accessibility Statement

My commitment to you
I’m committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, regardless of ability. My goal is to meet WCAG 2.2 AA and comply with the EN 301 549 (European Accessibility Act). Accessibility is a journey, and I’m continuously improving this site.
Contact for Accessibility Issues
If you encounter any accessibility barriers, please reach out directly. I’ll do my best to provide an alternative solution and fix the issue where possible.
Known Issues on the Site– To Be Fixed
- There is a focus indicator missing on the header under 780 px. To be fixed asap.
- The open menu under 780px isn’t keyboard navigable (focus doesn’t enter it, can’t be closed without a mouse). Same issue for the search modal under 780px. To be fixed asap.
Known Issues – Third-Party Platforms
- Payhip shop accessibility issues: My shop is using Payhip technology. Sadly, I have very little control over the code. They’ve recently added alt text on images (yeah!) so I’m slowly adding them where they used to be missing. It’s a work in progress. Again reach out directly and I’ll do my best to accommodate your needs
- Newsletter form (reCAPTCHA): my newsletter form uses reCAPTCHA. I hate it, but it’s out of the box with the newsletter provider. If you wish to subscribe to my newsletter and have issues with the reCAPTCHA, reach out directly and I’ll find a solution for you.
- Third part videos missing captions: some of my conference videos are missing captions. Since they are uploaded by the conferences themselves, I don’t have control over this. I try to offer articles that act as transcripts for my recent conferences. Unfortunately, older ones don’t always have those.
Inaccessible Content Format in the Shop Templates
I’m selling different templates on my shop. I’m slowly improving things to offer some .docx options for some of them. But, due to technical limitations of the tools those templates are used with, some formats are not accessible. Here is a list of the inaccessible formats:
- Figma files (.fig)
- Sketch files (.sketch)
- Penpot files (.penpot)
- Miro board files (.rtb)
- Figjam files (.jam)
- PDF (.pdf) especially when they are printable (for example cognitive bias printable cards or user interview printable cards)
Each item in the shop has a detailed list of the file type to help you decide. Reach out if you have questions about a specific format or need help.
Limitations
This is a “one person” small show, with occasionally some help on the code part from Geoffrey Crofte. I acknowledge that, sometimes, fixing things might take more time than I wish, but, I promise I will get there.
