My accessibility for Designer Workshop is coming back!
I’m happy to announce, that, I’ve partnered again with Smashing conference, and we are bringing my accessibility for designers workshop back. We will have 4 sessions, remotely, on Mondays and Tuesdays between June 16 and 24. This workshop is a mix of theory to help you understand what designers need to know about accessibility, and a lot of practical exercises, from fixing contrast issues in mockups, to documenting different aspects of accessibility. The super early bird prince is $255 with the link below.

Interesting articles that caught my attention
- Fixing digital accessibility issues with the press of a button: too good to be true? (12min) most accessiblity overlay only address surface level accessibility issues. They can’t really fix your website. AI-powered overlays fail to fully automate accessibility corrections as well. They struggle with accurate alt text, logical focus order, etc. So, magic solution can ensure full conformity. Instead, raise awareness around accessibility, make it part of your process, measure and adapt.
- The Interface Is Always There (3min) yup, fully agree with this “The next time someone talks about creating a UI-less experience, ask them: Through which of the five senses do they expect users to perceive their product? Whatever the answer, that’s their interface.“ by Christopher Butler
- There are plenty of non-men in tech to speak at your conference (2min) there are plenty of non men in tech, you just haven’t put the effort to find them. By Stephanie Stimac.
- The Four Most Dangerous Words to People with Disabilities (8min) The phrase “At least they tried” diminishes the significance of accessible design. It implies that those with disabilities should be grateful for any effort, even if it’s half-hearted. However, accessibility is not a favor or charity—it’s a civil right. Regardless of their abilities, everyone deserves a fair and equitable experience when using digital tools.
- The internet is unusable (9min) In pursuit of marketing dollars, increasing stock prices and filling shareholder wallets, it’s been broken beyond repair. A sad rant by Stephen Moore and I have do agree with him, it’s gotten even worse. I wonder how AI will change this, if AI research bring content to users without even visiting the site, the add model will work even less
Curiosity cabinet: non-design/tech rabbit holes I enjoyed
I built an Omni-Directional Ball-Wheeled Bike (video) haha James Bruton made it again. I love it when people do fun things like that. It’s hard to go in a straight line, but, it looks fun.
Inspiration: fun experiments, beautiful art, and great ideas
Cheetos Other Hand Font video: marketing done right, haha: the first ever typeface fully designed with the other hand — because our designer’s dominant hand was covered in Cheetos. I love that you can actually download the Cheetos font, and they even made a chrome cheetos other hand font extension in case you want to apply it on websites. Go big, or go home!

How To Invent Everything: the survival guide for the stranded time traveler that teaches YOU how to invent, well, EVERYTHING. “With HOW TO INVENT EVERYTHING, you’ll have all the science, art, engineering, philosophy, math, and music required to build a technological civilization – from scratch – all on your own”. Yes, this is giving me very Dr Stone vibes.
Useful tools & resources
- Freesound: a collaborative collection of 674,655 free sounds, nice place if you play DnD remotely and want to add fun sounds for your remote sessions. Among other things. I also enjoy the “random sound of the day”, where you guess what the sound is. I’m not really good at it though.
- Emoji Pattern Generator why would you need a Figma plugin that creates a pattern of emojis? I don’t know, but, I love the fact that this exists and brings me joy
